In your written overview or assessment, you should compare your life and work experience to the learning objectives of the course for which you are applying for credit. You must also provide evidence that documents your learning. Evidence may include, but is not limited to, the following:

- conventions/conferences: documentation may include literature and notes from the event and certificates
- continuing education courses: documentation may include transcripts and certificates
- teaching a course/class: documentation may include resumes, course reviews, lecture notes, and letters
- hobbies and recreational activities: documentation may include awards, congratulatory letters, public recognitions, news articles, and certifications
- community/religious service: documentation may include bulletins, letters of praise or recommendation, a resume, and news articles
- personal travel: documentation may include passports, photos, and tickets
- in-depth reading of a topic: documentation should include an explanation of the reason for this reading, how the knowledge gained was applied, names and sources of material
- seminars and workshops: documentation may include certificates, registration papers, and pamphlets
- training programs or in-service courses: documentation may include transcripts and letters
- independent research: documentation may include sources and assessment
- awards, publications, or memberships: documentation must include copies
Additional information, evidence, or proof of expertise may include:
- completed assignments for non-credit courses
- course descriptions/outlines for non-credit courses
- documented requirements for licensure/certification
