Licensure

In addition to our institutional accreditation, American Sentinel University is authorized to operate as a degree-granting institution by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, the state policy and coordinating board for Colorado’s higher education system, has authorized American Sentinel University to operate as a degree-granting institution. American Sentinel is also licensed by the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and Alabama Commission on Higher Education.

Additional Licensure, Authorization or Exemption Information

  • Illinois Board of Higher Education – American Sentinel meets the description of an institution with limited physical presence in Illinois as defined under 23 Illinois Administrative Code Section 1030.10, therefore is exempt from state licensure.
  • Massachusetts Department of Higher Education – American Sentinel is not required to obtain licensure due to the agency’s definition of physical presence.
  • Ohio Board of Regents – American Sentinel is exempted from obtaining licensure.
  • Texas Workforce Commission – American Sentinel University is not regulated in Texas under Chapter 132 of the Texas Education Code.
