– American Sentinel is a Proud Supporter of Military Community Offering Flexible Online Degree & Certificate Programs–

AURORA, Colo. – September 8, 2014 – American Sentinel University, an accredited, career-focused online university, has been approved as a participating university under the new Department of Defense (DoD) Voluntary Education Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This addition allows American Sentinel to continue to participate in the DoD Tuition Assistance (TA) Program after Sept. 5, 2014.

“We are pleased to be approved as an education provider under the new DoD MOU, and proud to support our military community in this important program,” says retired Air Force Lt. Col. Paul Capicik, vice president, military programs at American Sentinel University. “American Sentinel offers affordable, flexible and accessible distance learning degrees and certificate programs that are relevant to our students’ military and post-military careers.”

All educational institutions participating in the DoD TA program are required to sign this new MOU conveying the commitments and agreements between the university and DoD prior to receiving funds from a military service’s TA program. A list of educational institutions that have signed the DoD MOU.

American Sentinel provides an alternative for students attending schools that can no longer accept TA funding after the Sept. 5, 2014 deadline. With degree programs in high demand fields of healthcare, informatics, management and technology, American Sentinel provides an efficient platform to achieve advanced education levels that support the transition into civilian life or into a new career path.

The university offers college transfer and experiential credit policies. Additionally, American Sentinel is approved for VA GI Bill and federal financial aid programs. Military scholarships and book stipends are available for active-duty service members and their spouses.

“While serving, military personnel develop valuable skill sets. They’re determined, disciplined leaders and self-starters. Our programs at American Sentinel University are designed to enhance and build on these characteristics, promoting student success to help meet their professional and civic goals,” adds Capicik.
