– American Sentinel Acknowledged for Best Practices in Military and Veteran Volunteer Education by Military Advanced Education –
AURORA, Colo. – January 8, 2015 – American Sentinel University was recognized by Military Advanced Education (MAE) as a top school supporting the military community in its 2015 MAE Guide to Colleges & Universities. This distinction measures best practices in military and veteran volunteer education. The university is ranked in the top 15 percentile of surveyed colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide that are working to further academic success of U.S. service members and veterans.
“American Sentinel is proud to support our military and is committed to offering distance learning degrees and certificate programs that are relevant to students’ military and post-military careers,” says retired Air Force Lt. Col. Paul Capicik, vice president, military programs at American Sentinel University. “The Military Advanced Education recognition is a symbol of that commitment, and the reward of our success.”
MAE’s 2015 Guide to Colleges & Universities presents results of a questionnaire of the military-supportive policies enacted at more than 600 institutions. This year, institutes were evaluated on their support of military culture, financial aid, flexibility, on-campus support and online support services.
“We believe the Guide serves as a valuable tool for both education services officers and transition officers when advising service members about their educational opportunities,” said Kelly Fodel, MAE’s editor. “We used strict criteria to individually evaluate the submissions of respondents, and we had a record number of schools participating this year.”
More than twenty percent of American Sentinel’s enrollment are military students, and the university offers degree programs in “bright-outlook” career paths.
American Sentinel is uniquely suited to support the busy needs of active duty service members, reservists, veterans, military spouses and their families with student support services that help students make the most of their higher education experience.
“Our faculty have real-world experience in many different industries. What our students learn in the classroom is often immediately applicable to their job, and positions them to advance their career in a flexible, supportive learning format,” adds Capicik.
In addition to MAE’s ranking, American Sentinel is consistently recognized by GI Jobs Magazine and MilitaryFriendlySchools.com as a “military-friendly” university.
