Listen to Shaylene Caffey’s featured interview with Elaine Master’s on the Women’s Radio Network as she talks about her journey, how important it is to follow your passion and not letting anyone stop you.
Shaylene Caffey had an uncanny sense of direction as a young girl, often guiding her family on road trips. After joining the military at 17, she jumped at the chance to work with maps and became a terrain analyst. After a hip injury ended her military career, the mother of three went back to school at American Sentinel to earn her online GIS degree.
Shaylene looks forward to earning her GIS master’s degree, among others degrees she plans to pursue, and showing her children what is possible with hard work and dedication. “I want them to see that women can be strong and persevere,” she says. “And I want them to know that education is so important.”
