About the CompTIA A+ Certification
CompTIA A+ certification validates the skills of today’s computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. CompTIA A+ confirms a technician’s competence in areas such as installation, configuration, diagnosis, preventive maintenance and basic networking.
About the CompTIA A+ Exam
Achieving CompTIA A+ certification requires that candidates pass two 90-minute, 100-question exams:
CompTIA A+ Essentials – This exam measures the necessary competencies of an entry-level IT professional with a recommended 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. It tests for technical understanding of computer technology, networking and security, and professionalism.
CompTIA A+ Practical Application – This exam is an extension of the Essentials exam, but more focused on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems.

Registration
To register for the CompTIA A+ exam, simply complete an American Sentinel application. Students who choose to pursue an American Sentinel bachelor’s degree program can receive transfer credits for the CompTIA A+ certification.
