Transfer Equivalency of National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Programs

Military students who have completed the following courses are eligible to earn transfer credits for those classes.

Geospatial Engineer – DD-1601-0036

This course, also designated 491-403, was previously called Basic Topographic Analysis. American Sentinel awards credits for the following classes:

  • GEO200 Global Geography
  • GIS211 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
  • GIS225 Principles of Cartography
  • GIS315 Remote Sensing of the Environment

Geospatial Engineer Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course – DD-1601-0035

Prior to October 2005, this course was called Advanced Topographic Analysis. American Sentinel credits awarded vary depending on which course you completed.

For the Advanced Topographic Analysis (prior to November 2005), typically designated as 491-405), American Sentinel awards credits for:

  • GIS211 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
  • GIS225 Principles of Cartography
  • GIS360 GIS in Practice

For the Geospatial Engineer Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course (after November 2005), which has been designated as 491-405, USA 21Y30, USA 81T30, USMC 0261 and GE BNCOC 001-09 at different times), American Sentinel awards credits for:

  • GIS211 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
  • GIS225 Principles of Cartography
