Taxes & Tuition Payments
"American Sentinel University; like many distance learning schools, does not participate in Title IV funding and therefore is not eligible to be claimed as a deduction on your income taxes. If you are taking these classes because your employer requires them, you may be able to claim the tuition payments. We advise that you consult your CPA or a tax professional for assistance with possible education tax credits."

American Sentinel Community in Your Home Town?

Join the American Sentinel University Community! American Sentinel University is looking to start building community at the local level, where current students can meet each other and local faculty members face-to-face.

To start, we are looking to hold events roughly four times a year at locations around the U.S. (and around the world, if there is enough interest). If you would be willing to help coordinate events such as happy hours, study groups, and coffee shop get-togethers, please contact Melissa Parrish. Coordination would involve helping to select a local venue, getting to the venue early to help greet people, organizing name tags, etc.

BSCS with Game Programming Specialization

American Sentinel is now offering a Bachelor of Science degree program in Computer Science with a specialization in game programming (BSCS-GP). The BSCS-GP program provides students with both a broad exposure to the field of computer science and specialized knowledge in the area of game programming.

"The gaming industry will likely experience a record year, both in the U.S. and internationally," says Rick Oliver, in a recent press release. "With new and varied game consoles in the marketplace, mobile game applications on the rise, and the business environment's increasing use of 'virtual worlds,' we see job growth going beyond the past up and down, console-driven cycles. By offering a gaming specialization within a broader computer science BS, we can equip students to enter this industry with broad-based knowledge applicable to evolving marketplace demands."

Current BSCS students will be able to take the game programming courses as electives. If you are interested in these new courses, please contact Student Services for more information.
