Technology Enhancements - Possible Outages
American Sentinel University is planning improvements to enhance your online learning experience. We will be making changes in our email, web site, WebCT and our Birmingham local phone system. As a result we might experience outages. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience. Please continue to check here for any new updates.

American Sentinel University Technology Survey Results
As part of our continuing effort to improve the learning environment that we offer, American Sentinel University recently surveyed our students about their use of technology and how they wanted to see technology used in courses. An invitation to participate in the 2006 Student Technology Survey was e-mailed out on March 30, 2006 to students that enrolled in our undergraduate and graduate degree programs over the last three years. The survey concluded on April 21, 2006 and we received over 500 replies. Thank you to everyone that participated! To view the survey results, please click here.

The Occupational Outlook for Information-Technology Professionals
Demand for management-level Information Technology professionals is growing rapidly, while the rate of computer science graduates is not even close to keeping pace. This is one of the key findings of "The Occupational Outlook for Information-Technology Professionals," a study commissioned by American Sentinel University, an accredited distance learning university. Although the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that there will be an average of nearly 200,000 annual job openings in IT occupations that demand a BS or higher in computer science (or related disciplines such as management information systems), projections based on recent enrollment trends suggest that computer science degrees actually awarded in the United States will only be about one-quarter of the number of annual job openings.
