| Doing Business in Asia |
Will your foray into a foreign marketplace play out like a harmonius duet--or like a bull in a china shop?
Rick Goossen holds a Master of Law degree from Columbia and is an international business expert who serves as CEO of M&A Capital Corp. in Vancouver. While in Hong Kong for five years, he worked with the largest law firm and a leading merchant bank. He was one of several partners to grow a company from scratch to almost 300 employees over a two-year period; his division, PCI International in Hong Kong, grossed up to $10 million in a single month.
Mr. Goossen discusses how international trade with Asia has evolved over the past few decades and how expanding companies can best tackle international growth. To read the full story, please click here.

| Brian's Excellent Adventure to China - with American Sentinel Partner School |

Brian Carlisle, American Sentinel's Vice President of IT, was in China teaching at our partner school, Dahongying College. American Sentinel makes it possible for the Chinese students to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, information system, management information systems or business administration. While in China, Brian wrote several interesting stories for American Sentinel's staff blog.
"It is about 8:45am Monday morning as I write this. Yesterday, Sunny and Tang, our co-teachers, as well as two students, took us to downtown Ningbo. They first took us to a "supermarket," what we would call a department store. I recognized 80% of the brands in the store and, after doing the RMB to dollar conversion, recognized the prices as well. Apparently only foreigners and residents who did business with foreigners would really shop here. Given that I saw exactly one other non-Asian person all day, it’s hard to imagine this place doing much business, but it must."
