In order to meet the demand for the wide array of career opportunities for nursing professionals, American Sentinel University has customized CCNE-accredited Master of Science Nursing degree programs to include five specializations.

The online nursing master's degree was created to meet the needs of experienced nurses who want to expand their career options in nursing informatics, organizational leadership, case management, nursing education, and infection prevention and control. Nursing Specializations

Nursing students aspiring to leadership positions can pursue a nursing master's degree at American Sentinel University choosing any of five specializations:
  • MS Nursing Management and Organizational Leadership focuses on preparing staff nurses to assume a broader executive role in nursing management within a healthcare organization's administration.
  • MS Nursing Education develops experienced nurses pursuing the educator role within a clinical environment or as a faculty member in both traditional and non-traditional schools offering nursing degrees and training.
  • MS Nursing Case Management prepares graduates to assume managerial roles in health care systems, insurance and health maintenance organizations and specialty case management agencies.
  • MS Nursing Informatics develops graduate level expertise in clinical and administrative systems, data management and data mining to improve patient care delivery and information systems project management.
  • MS Infection Prevention and Control prepares experienced nurses to create programs and to monitor critical infection control indicators in health care delivery systems.

Nursing masters degree graduates from American Sentinel University are prepared to take on the emerging critical roles in nursing administration, management of resources, interdisciplinary collaboration and application of technology in the service of optimal healthcare delivery. The core courses provide the fundamental competencies as identified by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing "Essentials of the Masters of Science in Nursing."

Graduates of the Master of Science in Nursing will be able to:
