For further information on licensure, please contact Natalie Hunter, Vice President, Financial Aid and Compliance, at natalie.hunter@americansentinel.edu

American Sentinel’s bachelor’s and master’s nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791 .

The University’s CCNE-accredited MSN degree program is a post-licensure nursing program. This means that students must already be licensed as an RN and hold a BSN degree to be accepted for admission, and must maintain an active and unencumbered RN license throughout their enrollment in their program. The MSN programs are designed to expand graduates’ knowledge base, to enhance their marketability as an RN, and to permit them to enjoy greater career mobility and expand their options as an RN.

Some states may offer licensure or certification opportunities for nurses beyond RN, and individuals obtaining such licensures or certifications may be able to secure employment in a position other than RN. American Sentinel University’s MSN degree programsarenotdesigned to enable graduates to obtain any such form of licensure or certification in any state, or to secure any form of employment that might require such licensure or certification. *

Some states also may require that any person interested in serving as nursing faculty at a postsecondary institution within the state hold an MSN or other advanced nursing degree. American Sentinel does notensure that its MSN degree program will enable graduates to obtain a nursing faculty position in any specific state. The program is designed to expand graduates’ knowledge base, to enhance their marketability as an RN, and to permit them to enjoy greater career stability as an RN.

Before enrolling in a program, prospective students should check with the applicable licensing authority in the state in which they expect to work in order to ensure that the accreditation and curriculum meet the state’s eligibility requirements for the specific licensure or certification sought and that successful completion of American Sentinel’s MSN degree program will further their interests.

The majority of American Sentinel nursing students live and work in the United States. Prospective students living and/or working outside of the United States should confirm with the appropriate certifying agency whether successful completion of an American Sentinel nursing degree program will meet their credentialing requirements

For professional licensure disclosures related to the RN to BSN, RN to BSN/MSN, MSN, or DNP programs please see Additional Disclosures.

*For example, American Sentinel’s RN to BSN degree does not meet the eligibility requirements for the California or New York School Nurse Services Credential.
