Last week, American Sentinel University honored its very first members of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), a not-for-profit organization and honor society of nursing with more than 480 chapters and 125,000 members in 90 countries.
On July 24, our charter Chi Alpha chapter held its first STTI honor society induction ceremony at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Aurora, Colo. Among the 235 charter members inducted were American Sentinel nursing students, alumni, faculty, administration and nursing leadership. STTI’s mission is to “support the learning, knowledge and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide.”
“Joining Sigma Theta Tau International is exciting not only because it indicates our growth and maturity as a nursing program, but also because it shows our commitment to quality nursing programs,” says Mary Adams, president of American Sentinel University. “Our bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate nursing students work very hard. It is important for us to acknowledge their outstanding achievements by welcoming them into an organization that has a long history of supporting the professional development of nurses who are committed to making a difference in health worldwide.”
