DNP Program Achieves ACEN Accreditation

DNP Program is Now ACEN Accredited

The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN, formerly NLNAC), has granted accreditation to American Sentinel’s DNP online degree program with specialty tracks in executive leadership and educational leadership, following a site review completed in November 2013.

“As the role of the nurse continues to become more complex, the health care industry calls for nurses to advance their education,” says Judy Burckhardt, Ph.D., MAEd, MSN, RN, dean, nursing programs at American Sentinel University.  “The ACEN accreditation provides our nursing students with assurance that the DNP program at American Sentinel is a high-quality program that provides them with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in today’s health care environment.”

American Sentinel is one of just a few online universities with an ACEN-accredited DNP program with specialty tracks in executive leadership and educational leadership that prepare nurses for leadership roles in administration and academic settings.
