Each Friday we will be introducing you to one player on the American Sentinel University team. Everyone works hard to make sure our students reach their goals through supporting students and constantly improving our curriculum. When our students graduate with a relevant, innovative healthcare degree we all win!
Meet Student Success Advisor, Amy Whitley
What is your favorite part of your position with American Sentinel?
Interacting with, and learning about our students and their strengths! Our students lead incredibly busy lives and still make time to earn their degree because they are hardworking and passionate about what they do. I like hearing about their successes in class, and many of them have a great sense of humor about life’s unexpected stresses.
What is your favorite inspirational quote?
“Don’t worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try” – Jack Canfield
What would your coworkers be surprised to learn about you?
Domesticated fish creep me out. You can’t trust something that spends its whole life in a bowl.
If your life was turned into a movie, who would you want to play you?
Who do you most look up to?
If you weren’t in education, what would you be doing?
Realistically, if I weren’t in education then I’d get back into the nonprofit sector and work in the development department for a nonprofit that serves oppressed community members with mental illness. However, if there weren’t any restrictions to the ‘dream job’ I would work for Crayola, designing ‘new colors.’ Because really, who doesn’t love discovering a new tint/shade of blue?
