Impact of Treatment with Naltrexone on Attrition Rates in Patients with Opioid Use Disorder
The purpose of this project was to determine whether the use of naltrexone has an effect on attrition rates in treatment for patients with opioid use disorder. Indirectly, this project explored ways to most effectively treat patients with opioid use disorders using naltrexone in an outpatient treatment setting as a health care professional with the current legislative restrictions and barriers to treatment. This project was a retrospective review of patients who have sought treatment for opioid use disorders and have been treated with naltrexone. Patients were evaluated as to the initiation of naltrexone in relation to the length of stay in a treatment setting.
