-
Tuition Reimbursement
Many organizations who provide employer tuition reimbursement require their employees to first complete the course prior to disbursing the reimbursement. To assist students with such a tuition reimbursement policy, American Sentinel University offers the benefit of deferring payment for a course until after the course has completed allowing a student time to secure their reimbursement. In lieu of payment, a completed promissory note must be submitted at time of registration. If you are unsure if your employer/organization is partnered with the university, please contact an Admissions Advisor at 1.866.922.5690. If you meet the conditions above and are approved to use a promissory note, a valid debit/credit card must be provided on the promissory note. The university will automatically charge the card provided thirty (30) or sixty (60) days after the course completion date depending on the terms listed on the note. Ultimately, it is the student’s responsibility to understand their organization’s reimbursement policy and to ensure they meet the criteria to receive reimbursement.
-
Life Experience Credit
Most American Sentinel University students bring tremendous life experience and knowledge to the classroom — knowledge that may have been acquired both in and outside of the traditional classroom setting. You may be able to earn credit for any college-level knowledge that you have acquired outside of the classroom. Such life experience transfer credits could reduce the total cost of your degree and the time needed to earn it. Students enrolling in Powered by SIMPath® programs are not able to transfer in life experience credits. Learn more about Life Experience credit.
-
Transfer College Credit
American Sentinel accepts transfer credit for courses completed at a post-secondary institution that is regionally or nationally accredited (as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education). This can be determined through the Council for Higher Education Accreditation website. Our evaluation committee will take the time to assess the value of educational work completed at no charge. Learn more about Transfer Credits.
-
Credit by Exam
American Sentinel University offers students the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in a course’s content and receive course credit by examination or portfolio review. Students enrolling in Powered by SIMPath® programs are not able to transfer in credit by exam credits. Learn more about Credit By Exam.
-
Powered by SIMPath®
Save time and money by choosing our Powered by SIMPath program option. If you progress through the program quickly you can save time and money. In fact, we have students who have completed our BSN program in two 16-week semesters for $6,200.
-
Military Training
American Sentinel University recognizes the value of the many foundational training and leadership experiences provided by the United States Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Veteran and active-duty students can receive transfer credit for these experiences, which may shorten the time it takes to complete a degree. Learn more about Military Training.

Professional Certifications
Do you have any professional certifications? We recognize these accomplishments as viable knowledge. Once official confirmation of certification completion is received from the student, faculty members will review the skills achieved through such certifications to confirm that the skills map appropriately with relevant course work. If an 80 percent certification-to-course-work comparison level is achieved, credit is awarded. There is no additional fee associated with such evaluations. Learn more.
